Meet Khari Brown

Founder and Principal

Throughout more than two decades as a CEO and Executive Director, Khari Brown built and led mission-driven organizations through sustained periods of growth, complexity, and change. Over a 24-year tenure, he grew and led a nationally recognized nonprofit from a one-person operation into a multimillion-dollar organization, working closely with boards to refine strategy, strengthen governance, and align leadership around long-term goals.

Khari’s work centers on how leadership, strategy, and governance come together to drive organizational performance. He has partnered extensively with boards composed of senior corporate directors, former CEOs, and leaders who have served at the highest levels of state and national government, as well as with major institutional and individual funders operating at the top levels of philanthropy and business. Together, they have navigated challenging external environments, evolving funding landscapes, and periods requiring disciplined judgment and steady leadership.

A lifelong commitment to excellence and performance has guided every stage of Khari's career. That path includes early work as a professional basketball player, followed by roles as a basketball coach and personal trainer. Later he led and scaled a mentoring organization that grew by more than 1,200 percent under his leadership. Under Khari’s tenure, the organization supported thousands of young adults to persist and complete college at roughly three times the graduation rate of their peers. These experiences across athletics and organizational leadership continue to shape how Khari approaches strategy,  performance, and leadership today, reinforcing the importance of focus, balance, and sound decision-making under pressure.

Today, Khari serves as a strategic advisor and executive coach, partnering primarily with nonprofit CEOs and boards, while also working with senior leaders in education and corporate settings. His work supports organizations navigating leadership transition, succession planning, and periods of complexity, as well as executives stepping into expanded roles or preparing for CEO-level responsibility.

Drawing on his background in education, organizational leadership, and executive management, Khari helps leaders and governing bodies turn moments of change into opportunities for progress. His approach emphasizes clear decision-making, strong governance, and leadership practices that balance performance with the human demands of senior responsibility.
